ON PERIOD INSTRUMENTS
For the Mozart Year 2006 Siegbert Rampe has begun a recording of the Complete Clavier Works on period instruments (harpsichord, clavichord, fortepiano) for the second time. RAMEAU – NEW EDITION OF THE COMPLETE KEYBOARD WORKS
The first complete publication of the keyboard music of Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683–1764) was edited by Camille Saint-Saëns for publication in the Œuvres complètes (1895–1924). A performing edition had to wait until 1958, when Erwin Reuben Jacobi's legendary edition was published by Bärenreiter. Jacobi's volume had an enormous impact on the dissemination of Rameau's keyboard music and has been reissued no fewer than seven times to date.2 A third edition was presented by Kenneth Gilbert in 1979. Both Gilbert's edition and Graham Sadler's drew attention to a largely unknown body of Rameau's clavier music that is fully explored for the first time in the present volume: the complete clavier transcriptions that Rameau prepared from his opera Les Indes Galantes.
Our new edition is intended both for the performing musician and for the scholar. It resides on a re-examination of the original prints and attempts to reproduce as faithfully as possible the texts contained therein, particularly with regard to the exact transcription of repeat signs. It also incorporates those additions that Rameau himself apparently had engraved for later impressions. Further, it is the first edition to present a recently rediscovered piece that has come down to us only in manuscript form (Les petits marteaux) as well as all the keyboard transcriptions prepared at Rameau's behest.

Molter – ORCHESTRAL WORKS
Many of us know the concertos for clarinet and trumpet by Johann Melchior Molter (1696–1765). However, who knows the Baroque composer Molter, who seems to have been a pupil of Telemann at Frankfurt am Main? Molter came from the Thuringian city Eisenach und war Kapellmeister of the Baden Margrave at Karlsruhe from 1717 until his death. From him we have a rich collection of orchestral and chamber music Nova Stravaganza has presented on tour during the last years and recorded on CD in January 2004. The soloists are members of the orchestra: Ildikó Kertesz (transverse flute), Saskia Fikentscher und Christine Allanic (oboe), Christian Binde and Jörg Schulteß (horn), Franc Polman (violin).

Graupner II
After the great success of its first recording of Christoph Graupner’s (1683–1760) orchestral music (—> Discography) Nova Stravaganza has recorded a second CD for MDG in January 2004. These CD presents first recordings of other orchestral works in various scorings and chamber music of the Darmstadt Kapellmeister. The orchestral and chamber music documents the high position as a composer which Graupner had in his time beneath Georg Philipp Telemann and Johann Sebastian Bach. It was no other than Graupner who made Bach Thomaskantor at Leipzig: 1723 first Graupner was chosen by the Leipzig city; after his refusal the way was free for Bach.

Georg Muffat’s Keyboard Works Discovered
During research in the Viennese Minorite Abbey Siegbert Rampe in the year 2000 discovered the complete keyboard works by Georg Muffat (1653–1704) unknown before. Up to then we had only the collection Apparatus Musico-Organisticus of the Salzburg court organist which came out as second print in 1690. Thus the Viennese pieces now present us Muffat’s works for keyboard (harpsichord, clavichord) – just in time to the 350th anniversary of his birth in 2003 and to the 300th anniversary of his death in 2004. The pieces consist in seven partitas some of them fragments, which were found in a Viennese manuscript from 1707–1709 and show – common for Muffat – a synthesis of French and Italian elements of style. Their structur and playing technique is similar to the keyboard suites by Handel. From musicological perspective Muffat’s partitas can be called the most important keyboard suites from the German-speaking countries between Froberger and Bach.
Rampe publishes the pieces as first editions in two volumes together with the complete keyboard and organ music by the Viennese court organist Wolfgang Ebner (1612–1665) for Bärenreiter.

New Keyboard and Organ Works by Vincent Lübeck
In the year 2004 will be the anniversary of the 350th birth of the organist Vincent Lübeck (1654–1740) from Stade and Hamburg as well. Siegbert Rampe will edit a first complete edition of his keyboard and organ music for Bärenreiter. This edition in two volumes encloses besides the well-known works several new pieces discovered only in the last years. Among others there is a Hamburg manuscript from about 1710 which was taken to East Europe in Second World War and recently came back to the Hamburg Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek; this shows to be an important source for the performance practice of North German keyboard and organ music of that time.
